For this assignment, I chose the piece that were sad because they already carried heavy emotional weight, and I wanted to see how putting them together would enhance the feeling of the songs. I decided to use different sets of instruments to see how the mood and sound would change while still keeping the core emotion of the whole piece. I picked it specifically because it’s sad, and I really wanted to lean into that feeling.
Spooky Season
For this assignment, I had to create a scary audio clip using more than four different sounds and layer them together. I picked out noises that already felt unsettling, like crunching footsteps, a low rumbling bass, a whispering wind, and groaning voices. Once I had my sounds, I started overlapping them to build tension. The goal was to make something as spooky as possible, and I tried to make it seem like something was creeping up behind you.
