Written Summary

For this assignment, I learned how many different elements go into visual storytelling, such as contrast, perspective, and light. Each one can completely change the meaning of a photo. Honestly, everything was harder than I expected because this was my first time doing all of this, and I felt frustrated trying to understand programs that don’t feel natural yet. Nothing came easily, and it sometimes felt like I was supposed to “see” things that I didn’t know how to look for. The part that frustrated me most was trying to apply all the rules at once in terms of setting up and organizing my blog while still trying to figure out the assignment, and it felt really overwhelming. But I did enjoy actually taking the pictures, because that was the one part that felt simple and familiar. Even though the technical side was challenging, being out with my camera and experimenting made the process feel a little more fun and less intimidating.
